I came across this great document from Wall Street Journal, it describes 10 problems in the work computer environment and then solutions to these problems. This article might not be helpful for the real tech nerd but it will help out others. These problems range from blocked websites, sending large emails and even how to look like your busy while doing some heavy web surfing! For each of these 10 they go over “the problem”, “the trick”, “the risk” and “how to stay safe”.

10. HOW TO LOOK LIKE YOU’RE WORKING

The Problem: You’re doing some vital Web surfing and your boss turns the corner. What do you do?

The Trick: Hit Alt-Tab to quickly minimize one window (say, the one where you’re browsing ESPN.com) and maximize another (like that presentation that’s due today).

The Risk: The good news is that there are no known security risks.

How to Stay Safe: Get back to work.

Since this website is founded on boredom at work, I could not pass this up. I myself have to personally check certain websites at work or I will go crazy staring at the same thing all day long. This article does give good solutions to problems that occur to me all the time and I know other people as well. Check out the article and leave some comments on tech problems that you have at work, maybe we will be able to come up with a solution for you!
