Cell phones have received quite a few feature updates over the past couple years, creating a universal device. One of the most prevalent updates has to be the addition of the camera. They are continually getting better and better and could slowly take over the point and click market. The Nokia N95 boasts a 5-Megapixel camera, but since I don’t know anyone who owns one, it makes it hard to compare.
This round is between the LG VX9900 enV and the Apple iPhone. The enV and iPhone both have a 2-Megapixel camera which makes for fairly decent photos. The enV has the ability to zoom except when taking 1600×1200 photos. So the zoom isn’t really a factor when comparing it to the iPhone since the iPhone is only able to take 1600×1200 photos. The enV does have a one up on the iPhone since it comes with a flash and lens cover. The iPhone has a hard time taking low light shots, most of the images show up grainy. I’m not going to list the LG VX9900’s autofocus as a plus after reading PC Magazine because it raises the shutter speed from 0.4 seconds to 2 seconds without really improving the image.
Now down to the important things comparing the two cell phone’s images. After looking at the images from each phone, I have to say that the iPhone has better color accuracy and a slightly more crisp image. It makes it harder to compare photos because some are in portrait and others are in landscape, but let me know what you think.
