I recently just moved into a new apartment a few months ago in which my roomate has already been living there for a year. Normally I don’t buy the premium channels like HBO and Showtime, but my roomate was already subscribing to these shows so he can watch Curb Your Enthusiam, Entourage and Weeds. All three of these shows are awesome but we came across two other shows that really grabbed us in. These two are Californication on Showtime and Flight of the Conchords on HBO.

Flight of the Conchords is a funny show based off of two New Zealanders (Bret and Germaine) come to New York to promote their band. They also have another New Zealander (Murray) that is also their band manager. This show basically follows these three as they try to get their band signed with no luck at all. It is definately one of those stupid funny TV shows but it was funny enough for each sunday night my roomate and I would set aside some time to watch the show.

 
Californication is another great show that is not a comedy that was a real surprise to me. It stars David Duchvony as a troubled novelist who wants to be with his ex-girlfriend who is engadged with another man. What complicates this situation is that they have a teenage daughter together. What makes this show great is that while trying to get back with his ex-girlfriend he basically gets laid by the hottest girls in LA. Another twist happens when he ends up hooking up with the 16 year old daugter of his ex-girlfriends fiance. Check it out sometime.
