Presentation Saver

This blog is intended for all of those individuals that put up with the daily redundancy of the office life. That includes how to mess with that co-worker you hate, bitching about office politics and also tips and tricks to help you out around the office. I know a lot of companies require that office computers be locked at all times when the individual is not around them. Also, with this they are required to have a screen saver set up to lock the computer as a backup. Most of the times this is helpful but when you are giving a presentation via PowerPoint or presenting someoneĀ  else’s presentation via a WebEx then this can be a problem that always every 10 minutes the screen saver will kick in and be a pain when required to log back in.

I created a quick application to counter this problem. I created an application calledĀ Presentation Saver. The application starts off by recording the screen saver settings currently on the machine. Then it will deactivate the screen saver and add 100 minutes to the timeout. TheĀ application will then display this data as well as give you the function to revert to the old settings and or change the settings. When the application closes it will always revert back to the original settings.

Currently this application is only available for Windows machines that are currently running .Net framework 3.5 SP1. Also, this application is a 0.1 release in which this is essentially a beta. I would rather get this out as a 0.1 version than keep working on it and not let any one use it. Any feedback would be appreciated to grow the feature set.
