As you all know I have a Motorola Q9c, and as a permanent setting the camera will make a shutter sound when its taking a picture. This sound will go off even if the phone is in silent mode. The reason this is setup this way, is to prevent perverts from taking pictures. Now when I have my phone on silent, I like to have it on silent and since this is a windows mobile phone, everything is changeable. Most of the times you can change almost anything by editing the registry. Here are the directions, play around with this at your own risk.
How to disable the Motorola Q/Q9c Camera Sound
Install a registry editor on your phone.
Navigate to \HKLM\System\Pictures\Camera\OEM
Edit the value of SoundFile
Change the string from “\windows\shuttersound_02_secs.wav” to “\windows\*none*\” (asterisks are required.)
Voia! There you go no more sound!
