When it comes to working with .zip files, I actually prefer to work with the Native windows Zip application. I still usually install WinZip or WinRar to handle the occasional non zip compressed file. Well on install, if you don’t forget to uncheck to associate with zip, then those applications open by default. Now normally you can fix this by right clicking on the zip file, hitting properties then hitting change to select new default application. The problem is that the Native Zip application is no where to be found, and I don’t know where that executable is stored. So looking online all you have to do is run this command. Go to Start->Run
cmd /c assoc .zip=CompressedFolder
Voila! Windows Zip application is set by default now!
